Hi,

Spent the last couple of days in the sun treating the griff to a couple of new parts.

One of the exhaust manifolds was blowing slightly, so a new set of gaskets and bolts. To be honest I reckon I could have nipped the bolts up and that would have cured it. Almost the weight of the spanner on its own undone some of the bolts.

Took and hour in total, couldn’t believe it, but the bolts spun out with ease.

Whilst the manifolds were off, a new pair of engine mounts were fitted, not a bad job with the exhausts removed.

A new set of plugs.

Took the precats out. Again not a bad job, 1st one about an hour, 2nd a bit longer due to knocking it too far into the manifold.

Refitting the manifolds took longer than removing, and I fitted my decat pipe just in case any little bits of the precats were missed.

Fired up, sounded great, went for a spin.

Then it had the audacity to break down, just died, managed to coast into a church car park.

I though a lead had come loose etc around the area I was working. Turns out the fuel pump had stopped working. No 3 second prime when starting, although the volt meter said different.

Gave it a tap and it eventually kicked into life.

Ungrateful car !!!

Gave mine a good few hours of cleaning & polishing. Went to drive back into the garage and the widow stuck 1/2 open. Turned out it was a bad connection to the window motor but in taking off the console switch, I now have a loose lower console. Grrr.
