Firstly, I am not a DJ and I dont ever want to be in a club being a DJ. My interest is just personal.
I have Virtual DJ on my Macbook and sometimes play around with it, which I enjoy. I am looking to extend this a bit further by purchasing a controller.
Having read up on Virtual DJ compatible controllers, it would seem that Pioneer DDJ-400 2 Channel DJ Controller is a good choice for my needs.
Please can someone that knows a lot more about this than I do confirm that this model is a good one for my needs.
Also, is there anything else I need?

Hi, I’ve got the DDJ400’s big brother, the 1000, slight overkill for my needs, but this is PH
. The only thing I’d say is consider they’re designed to work with Pioneers own software, Rekordbox, I’ve no idea how well it’ll work with Virtual DJ but if it says it’s compatible I’ve no doubt it’ll be fine. Pioneer DJ kit is pretty solid quality wise.

I was looking at the 1000, its really good and I like the displays in the jog wheels. It's way over my requirements but is tempting

Cupramax, if I wanted to also add in a single turntable, do I need a 4 channel unit?

Yes I think so, most of the 4 channel ones can switch each channel to either use whatever controller software you’re using, or decks via phone sockets on the back DDJ400 can’t do this as far as I know, but check on Pioneers website, DDJ1000 definitely can, plus the SX/SX2 if you’re looking at older ones.

Many thanks, I am grateful for the help.
