There's a conveniently placed cigarette lighter socket in the boot... anyone have any thoughts or recommendations on this? I went for a drive today and couldn't help but think that it would be wonderful to enjoy some chilled beverages upon arrival

Very expensive units by the looks of it?! Alternatives appear to be £30 and upwards at a cursory glance..

Alternatives will be a peltier based unit and not compressor based. Very poor performance unless you pre chill and back with ice. They also draw considerably more power.

I've got both types for camping, only one of them ever gets used......

What about these cool boxes one can purchase (regardless of whether they are powered or not). Any views on those? Just weighing up options and you're obviously well versed in this area

By no means an expert, the peltier ones are OK if you pre chill and use ice blocks, only run with engine running and it will be OK.
