Has anyone else worked out its pointless?

Life that is, not just for humans but for everything.Soon the earth will fall into a black hole and destroy itself under its own weight, or more likely there will be a bigger and more deadly virus round the corner that just kills everything.
Everything mankind has ever done and will ever do is then pointless, every bit of worry over money, every war ever had all needless. No one will be around to see how we lived, nothing will remain.
So the meaning of life? There isnt one!

If you can do one thing that makes others happy everytime you do something that makes you happy you’re onto a winner.

I've found that it in fact ballocks. Try and make people happy? They take you for granted. Go out, do what makes you happy.

I’ve stopped bothering now and instead just nod agreeing that the neighbours putting cardboard in the wrong bin is a major problem or whatever other pointless s

I'm not worried about the earth itself falling into a black hole, I can deal with that. It's the black hole era that follows that freaks me out. !
Eventually there will be nothing but black holes.
Unless the theory of multiverse has some basis and there are other universes out there. Some speculate that harnessing the ability to generate enough energy so as to create new universes will mean that some are fertile and reproduce, others do not, depending on their ability to sustain intelligent life.
Maybe there is nothing in that and all will die, maybe not, but we are talking about trillions of trillions of trillions of trillions (and so on) of years after earth has perished. Which itself is likely to be so far in the future as to not be able to comprehend it. There is nothing soon about it.
So what is really pointless is worrying about the futility of life, and recognise it as a precious thing to be lived and enjoyed.

It's not "soon" it's so far in the future that it is difficult or impossible to fully comprehend a time so far in the future. I'm going to be optimistic and say that by that time we will have travelled to other stars and set up colonies. After that we may discover how to reignite stars or use the radiation from black holes to sustain ourselves. And learnt how to turn energy into matter.
Maybe we ourselves will become some sort of non-caporial entities.

t.I have a full bike licence and at 48 I decided that it was time after 25 years to buy a bike again. I did lots of research, choose my kit, helmet, return to biking training course and didn't bother in the end.
The last one. Well my wife threatened to divorce me, and went to a solicitor 2 years ago, but I managed to get a second chance. But given the bust up we had 2 days ago and 4 days ago and 6 days ago and 8 days ago, I think that's back in the cards. If it happens. I WILL BE LIVING A CELIBATE UNCOMLICATED LIFE.
I saw a quote on one of those Athena posters many years ago which said "All animals except humans know the meaning of life is to enjoy it".
In reality we are all only here for a tiny spec in time in the great scheme of things so if you can enjoy yourself while you are here and when you leave know you have made the world a better place in someway then thats the biggest achievement, alternatively you could go out in a fireball off you head on coke and that would probably be note worthy too.
