Austin Healey in "The Detectives"

Was just flicking through the channels and caught a b&w TV series on Talking Pictures TV called The Detectives. Spotted what looked like an Healey 3000 with its bonnet being opened by one of the characters.

Looked it up on the internet movie cars database site, but oddly can't find anything of this series.

Well, that site is mainly user-contributed stuff now, so if it's obscure enough maybe no-one has got around to sending them in yet. I keep seeing it in the EPG but I don't think I've watched one, I think it's perhaps a little too old for me.

It seems to ring a bell with me, or maybe I'm getting it mixed up with a similar show, and it's definitely too old for me, but I get the impression it was a popular and well known American crime detective series back in the day.

Quite alot of obscure and long forgotten films and series are shown in that channel, and probably not even available on DVD or even VHS.

I only noticed it because I wondered if it was the Robert Powell series from the eighties.

It is quite an interesting channel to keep an eye on, and I hadn't realised until recently that it was started by one bloke in his garden shed, and is now run by him and his daughter.

Apparently Adam West (of Batman fame) and Robert Taylor were in it, so I would've thought it wouldve been a bit more known about.
