Currently own a stage 2 mk7 fiesta st (235 bhp).

Been looking at changing car but most new cars im looking at will require me to pay 15k plus my part ex. I still love my car but fancy a different driving experience.

Im tempted by a mx5 nc as i love the way they look, and i would probably lower it and fit a bbr 200 NA power kit to liven it up.

Would a modified mx5 nc and a modified fiesta st be a good combination 2 car garage? The other option is to just buy one car and have a civic type r fk8/megane rs/bmw m140i or something like that as a do it all.

Go the two car route you'll end up with less compromised cars.

I think a 2 car route is the way to go but if it was me and I was buying the MX5 as you.suggest with the modifications you list id be complimenting it with something bigger and more comfortable and barge like as a second car, the Fiesta to me is a bit jack of all trades as hot hatches are meant to be so nothing wrong with that. Its just the way I would go.

I have gone the multi car route and highly recommend it.

Picking different type of vehicles is the key though. I am not sure a modded mx5 and modded fiesta are different enough for me. I would go for a classic of some description, maybe an NA mx5? (Although I wasn't overly impressed with the one I had, despite what everyone suggests) How about a MK1 MR2?

Obviously it depends on what you use your cars for, but it sounds like a pretty poor car coverage - if you have an MX5, when you would drive the Fiesta? When you want two small back seats and a small boot...?

Why do you actually want two cars - I wanted a convertible but also something economical that could fit my dogs in that was fun so ended up with a Z4 & a RenaultSport Megane.

Well realistically i wanted a car that is fun/agile/quick/lightweight and not ruinous on fuel or maintence bills and 4 seats. Ive spent ages researching cars but theres barely any modern cars that tick the boxes and i dont want to maintain an older car. I love my car and cant seem to let it go at all but i fancy another car to provide a more sports car type of fun, i.e low to ground and designed purely for driving pleasure rather than practicality.
