Help! 997.1 Aircon issue

Hi All,

I have a 2006 C2S with an aircon issue. I noticed that the aircon wasn't chilling the air as much as usual over the last few days, still cooling but not getting as cold as it used to. This has coincided with a whining/groaning sound coming from (the front??) of the car when the a/c is on. Turn the a/c off and the whining/groaning stops. It's quite noticably noisy in the car.

Any ideas what's up with it?

Its a weird background gurgling noise.
That usually happens when refrigerant has leaked from the system. Some are better than others but at least 4 yearly re-gas is required.

Thanks, it’s not really a gurgling noise, more whining as I say. Doesn’t do it all the time but it’s getting worse.

Heads up. My similar aged car albeit with nearly 90k miles on it had to have the front to rear pipes changed as it wouldn’t hold gas. There is someone doing it on another thread on her I think. It’s a big job. Not sure I had any noises thoughts can’t help with that bit.
