Never had a Submarine sim before but I saw a TV review of it and it looks good, appears to be all 3d realtime like being able to walk around the sub, issue commands and of course sink things.

Anyone got it or tried it?

Looking at getting this, does indeed look quite good. Would be good if we could get a PistonHeads league going with this. Bit of a diff pace to GTR!!!

Excellent. Have you seen a demo anywhere on the internet or on a cover disc?

Have they got a surface ship sim that works with this? Was fun playing Destroyer command with Silent hunter on multiplayer

I used to play Silent Service on my ZX Spectrum

I used to play it for hours and hours, excellent game (if you like sitting on the seabed trying to be real quiet and avoid the depth charges)

Its good. The graphics are really superb. Few things missing however. The missions can be a bit 'samey'. Their are no Wolfpacks and radio comms are weak regarding new contacts.

Feels a little like you are out their alone. Their is however a very strong modding circle so things are looking up.

If you like Subs you will not be dissapointed.

Haven't seen a demo anywhere yet but it may have just slipped by me. Best of checking the net I suppose because I never knew there was a battlefield 2 demo out until I checked google!!!

Got this now. Very good, just like Das Boot

I've been trying the missions, I'm currently chasing the HMS Illustruious Carrier battle group in the Atlantic, but they have a speed advantage over me

Anyone else playing this.

Currently it's 1am and I'm sitting on the bottom of Scapa Flow whilst 2 Royal Navy Destoyers are doing a surface searchlight sweep and occasional ping. They're not sure where I am or if anything is there, silent running and everything shut down. I have a target I'm going for, HMS Revenge which has moored up but I have to get past these 2 first. I may be some time, it's all a bit Das Boot at the moment. They'll give up soon and then I'll start my run

Read in PC Gamer about a guy who played it solidly in real time for a week, found he couldn't leave his men in charge as they went to sleep too much, he only stopped for short sleep breaks and for food

I managed about 1.5 hrs most in one go, not much, but then I speed up time function a lot when moving.

Runs fine on mine - 2ghz CPU. 1GB RAM, 256mb GfX card.
