Has anyone managed to get the Porsche garage door opener working with a Hormann door?

Third time I’ve tried and it’s driving me crazy.
I have no direct Porsche experience of this, but when I did this with my wife's Q5 I had to use the main Hormann remote and not the slave remote. In my case this was the one that came shipped with the door opener. Previously I had been trying to use the remote that I had bought and added to the system afterwards and the Audi wouldn't play nicely with it.

So, something to try at least. FWIW literally nobody in the UK knew about this and I found it out from looking on US forums, where integrated garage door openers seem to be much more common.

I configured it with a Macan GTS (2018) on Hormann Bisecure / Promatic. I could probably give you some pointers but would need more information. There are multiple versions of Homelink and there are different versions of Promatic. It's straight forward but you have to have the right instructions for your combination of Homelink and Hormann.

The guy who fitted my garage doors is excellent and provided the information directly from Hormann themselves. If I can't help, I'll give you his details.

I have had some success with the Porsche 'Homelink'; the most complicated ones require the door the to be paired with the car.

So once you've managed to teach the car you may need to enable the door to recognise the new remote.

Why not just use the remote that's supplied with the door?

Agree, doors are great. Homelink not so much.

https://homelink.com/program/video

I have always found the homelink site to be a help when I have had to program cars to openers. Usually the learn procedure involves a learn button on the opener itself.

I have exactly the same problem with my Hormann door, can has 'learnt' the code but the door doesn't open! Think I read somewhere that the door actuator has to be told to recognise the signal from the car somehow? It was a few months ago and I have no given up with it!

Well that would be superb! Thanks.

Opener is a Supramatic I believe. Homelink in a new car so expect latest version?
Do you know which model of Supramatic it is?

Solving this comes down to models, version numbers and manufacture years in my experience as minor changes in hardware or software can render instructions useless. The instructions I had also appeared to have been translated from German using Google Translate which made for a joyful experience.

Speak to Cliff Hinchley at Newmarket Garage Doors - he might not be able to help you on Homelink but he has a forensic understanding of Hormann and has contacts into the factory. I trust Cliff and trust that if he doesn't know, he will know who to ask but he'll need specifics from you to find the answer.

I spec'd all sorts of extras in the Macan GTS I had as it was a daily and I'll be honest, having gone through a pain barrier to get it to work, i came down on the side of never specifying Homelink again. None of my other cars have got it. But I did it on the basis of not having a remote for the garage and gate rattling around in the centre console.

I created a web based app using a Raspberry pi Zero W & NodeRed, connected it using a relay to the momentary switch on my door controller. Saved the shortcut to my iPhone home screen and voila! Now I don't need to carry key fob...

If anyone is interested, drop me a PM and I can send you the config.
