Bought new car - rattling noise - options?

Hi there.
First time posting. Hope this is the right place.
I've just bought a used car from a dealer in a p/e. It's a Skoda Octavia estate TSI.
The car appears to be in good nick, it passed an MOT just two months ago with no advisories and had a service. It's done 74,000 miles and is 10 years old.
However, I've only driven it two times so far and I've noticed a slight rattling noise, almost like a metal scraping noise, from perhaps under the car or at the side of the car when driving at a low speed, when not accelerating or in low RPM. At a higher speed, I can't hear the noise, nor when driving in high RPM.
Having only just bought it, I wondered what I can do? Shall I take it to a garage (lockdown might make that tricky?) and pay for them to look it over? If I call the dealer, surely they'll just want to wash their hands of it and suggest they don't know anything about it?

Hi James, welcome to the forum.
Dealers will often react better if you work with them a little.
First, call the dealer to tell them and see what they say.
Most dealers will just tell you to pop it in and they'll have a look.
If they're not receptive then come back on here for more advice.
Could be a simple as a loose heatshield on the exhaust.

Might just be a bit of rust on the inside of brake discs if it's been sat for a while.
Take it out for a run and give the brakes a workout - brake hard from a decent speed down to a crawl and lift off the brakes just before you come to a stop. Repeat half a dozen times and see if the noise disappears.
Obviously choose somewhere quiet and check your mirrors before slowing!
My Dad had a 2007 Octavia vRS and arrived home one day with it making the most horrendous squealing noise. I was outside and heard it from about half a mile away. It sounded terminal. He rang the dealer to book it in and they said it will be a stone stuck between the rear brake disc and the metal shield behind.and they were spot on.
