Using a Mazda RX8 gearbox in a Mk2 Escort

Hi all,

I'm going to be using the above combo, of the 6 speed Mazda RX8 gearbox in my Escort, however with a twist.

I've got hold of a lightened flywheel and twin plate clutch to go onto my Vauxhall XE, however need to get the right size friction plates to use with the Mazda box.

I've read about and am lead to believe that the Mazda clutch will be the same 1" 23T spline as used by other manufacturers (including Ford), however I don't have a plate to try on the box.

Before ordering, I'm calling on the combined experience and knowledge on here to advise whether anyone can confirm / deny this to be the case??
