Monitor not waking up

Pretty much a standard IT problem
There will be a thousand different root causes depending on the monitor / graphic card / port / OS / config combination.
General solution bis to buy everything from Apple at 3x the price or everything from the same enterprise vendor like HP or Dell at merely 2x the price

My aoc monitorcand hpmlaptopnhave played nice for years.

Since the last windows 10 update I have the same problem

My TV sometimes does this; the PC is running fine so hard power off and on isn't desirable... I find unplugging and replugging the HDMI lead from the back of the PC always wakes the screen up and you can just log in as normal.

I had very similar.

After some googling I cleared Bios/CMOS or summat by removing and reinstalling the battery, removed and reseated the RAM, went through various bios changes/settings stuff on boot up to and and after several hard resets it fired up.

Rolled back latest win 10 update and it's been fine since.
