2010 Dodge Challenger opinions

Hey guys, I'm Chris originally from Italy, living in the UK (Winchester, Hampshire). I've never been a car enthusiast at all and I don't even own a car at the moment since I work from home and don't really "need" it. But since I saw a Challenger in 2010 I've always knew that if I got a car it would be that one.

I wanted to get your expert opinion. From what I've fond out looking online, it looks pretty good, except maybe the price is a bit higher and they say it's 2011 with a 3.6, instead it's a 2010 with a 3.5. This is the VIN 2B3CJ4DV0AH306430. It's been imported in the UK in 2019.

I'm gonna see it in person tomorrow.

As with any import from the USA get a Carfax report on it,this will tell you if the car has been accident damaged or a total loss before it was shipped here, if your budget can stretch to the V8 the smal increase in purchase/insurance/running costs will be cancelled out by the massive grin when driving and also especially on resale value!

No direct ownership experience, but drove a 2019 model for 3 weeks in the US with the newer V6. Made a great noise but not particularly fast so i’d be even more concerned with the pre facelifts. Personally with a car like this it’s V8 or no point, then again the v6 still makes a fab noise so depends if your after outright speed or more? Or is it mostly the looks of them?
Id also try get a facelift for the vastly better interior, the infotainment in the dodges is actually pretty decent.

Loving the Carfax content and format, not seen one before. Looks like this car has been used as a dodgem and had a 40,000 mile haircut, impressive!

I get the impression pretty much all of the body panels have been repaired/replaced at least once in it's life

2nd owner was either a particularly bad driver or lived in a bad area. Then I'm not sure the US suffer vehicle vandalism like we do in the UK.

Like others have said, try and dig deeper and get a V8.

I had a V8 Mustang GT and a V8 Mercury. Grins every drive.

2nd owner bought it off a rental company (probably Hertz)
Looking at that carfax, don't walk...RUN in the opposite direction!

I would off them £5k, even with the mileage haircut and CarFax report it would be a bargain at that price

What is your max budget? I found a V8 model for under £20k 2013 model with 55k on the clock

Much lower, around 13k and (you're gonna hate me for that) think I'll look for a V6 mostly to keep costs in check for insurance and petrol in general But thanks!

Your choice on which to buy but don't always assume fuel costs between the 2 models will be vast, the 05-09 Mustang for example had a V6 & V8 model, the mpg difference between the 2 was less than 5mpg, although this can add up over a lot of miles the re-sale value of the V8 cancelled it out

I see, thanks! Then I guess it's mostly about insurance and maybe pretty hard to find a V8 for 13k in good conditions...
