My airbag light is on after seat removal.

The guides I've read talk about pluggin into the body EOBD module and using Volvo protocols.

I can't find a second EOBD port and when I try to connect in on the only one I can find, my scanner says it doesn't recognise the vehicle and can't connect.

I have a BrainBee ST-9000 and a MAC mentortouch, neither of which are working.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

To my knowledge, there are two OBD ports under the dash. One for the main car, and one for the body.

I have to switch the car on, but not start it, and my reader recognizes things with a general scan. Maybe try that. Then, if it doesn't;t recognize Volvo, try Ford, as a lot of the car is from that manufacturer. Hope this helps.

Engine OBD is left side under the dash, OBD for all other systems in on the right side under the dash (passenger side when LHD)

Try Volvo or buy the Foxwell NT510, that works well on AM.

I have both the Foxwell and a Snap-On scanner and neither will do the airbag. I believe you need the dealer level diagnostics for the chassis codes.

Try and find an indie that has that because I had the same issue when I installed DBS seats in my DB9 and my main dealer will not reset the fault code without charging you for a full diagnosti, even though you know what has triggered the light.

I found the second EOBD port under the passenger side of the dashboard. It appears the earlier cars have them side by side in the driver's foot well. The later cars have one in each footwell.

Unfortunately I still had no luck, even with the Volvo XC90 protocols.

I triggered the airbag light after taking off the steering wheel. Foxwell NT530 device solved it at second attempt - needed to be firmly plugged in to pick up the modules. I believe the SRS system is Volvo sourced.

What year is yours?

I'm wondering if the 2012 cars use a different system?

Success!

Apparently it's an ABTC1 system. A Volvo V50 T5 has the correct airbag system so it seems.
