Hi all,

I have had my 2005 DB9 now for a month and have completely fallen for it, but I know I have to spend some money to get a number of teething issues sorted. Any help greatly appreciated. Firstly, my brakes are pretty worn so looking for good options for replacement pads. Also, I have a leaking damper at the back so wondering about replacement and options and new settings etc. I can’t afford the full bilstein upgrade at the moment. Finally, I have some issues with the interior. The car has some heat/sun damage and leather has pulled away on the dash near the windscreen (a common issue I think). The ski slope also needs attention (faded and a bit loose). I live in Essex, so any Interior trim specialist or good garages you can recommend would be a great start ( happy to travel a bit for the right place).

Many thanks,

EVR

Hello, congrats on the car. As for pads, I recently went down the road of EBC Yellow Stuff on my N420. Was not a fan at the beginning, they were pretty noisy, but now all is good and price is right.

Yeah EBC yellow stuff is good. The price of a new genuine shocker will be £500 so what i would do is to contact bamford rose and ask if you can purchase an old one thats been removed as they fit upgrade packs.

Enjoy your DB9 they are the best cars in the world.

Don't be fooled into replacing the OEM Pagid pads - they are sh*t and create enormous amounts of dust and often squeal.
Much better are Porterfield R4-S pads - little or no dust and. more importantly, unlike the Pagid, no squealing, which has been known to drive some owners mad.
You can get Porterfields in UK from www.porterfieldbrakes.co.uk/ or Richard Seidlitz of Redpants in Florida, www.redpants.lol. The latter has all sorts of highly valuable information on his website, including how-to videos. A true gentleman.
While you're at it, Michelin Pilot Sport 4-S tyres and a good Hunter geometry realignment will transform the car.
