So I have sold & brought my cars on autotrader, specialist forums and ebay.
While advertising my current car prior to C19 restrictions, I also put it on Facebook as it was free and I'm a member of the BMW F10/11 group on there.
Recently I have been inundated with requests to sell it for half price, and just playground arguments about price or condition. Not to mention aggressive comments of "I'm coming over to day to pick it up, with £XXXX cash" "I take for £XXXX, you no sell car" etc.
Is it me or is facebook another class of car buyer?
When I engage with someone to buy a car from they, I'm polite as I would be with anyone, have we lost manners via social media?

You'll get this no matter where you advertise it especially as people have convinced themselves that all used car prices will drop through the floor so making derisory offers will become even more prevalent ride it out you'll find a real buyer you just have to wait.
As a side bar also lookout for D4 V40's as they're a good car it depends on how much you want to spend on the 5 series replacement.

As a rule I don't negotiate over the phone/Email I always say I'm open to offers once you've viewed the car, I answer all questions as you never know who's going to end up buying although it does annoy me when you write a comprehensive advert & you get asked questions that are answered in the advert.
People/traders will chance their arm & if they get a bite then it's a win win as I said everyone thinks their are steals to be had right now so (just look at the number of threads on that subject lately) you're going to have to roll with it, plus lots of people have seen Wheeler Dealers/Gas Monkey etc.

The 'idiot buyers' are why places like WBAC etc have become poplular, a lot of people just can't be bothered with the hassle of dealing with idiots.
I had a 1986 Yamaha DT125 for sale last year, advertised for £1200 with the usual texts/emails saying they will take it for £500/600 etc,even had a guy come to view it and tell me "it's a bit tatty!" to which I replied "it's 33 years old,what are you expecting?"

It does work, particularly when you advertise cars within groups interested in that sort of car.
But you do have to filter your way through lots of utter f

Sold my Elise on Facebook marketplace. Combination of that and SELOC classifieds.
Did have some guy low ball me on it as his RX7 would run rings round it. Didn't really understand what that had to do with it so just ignored him. Sold it for close to asking in the end to someone a lot more civil.

The Mrs has a Corsa van that was left to her and used for a year or so. We stuck it up for £600.
Within about 20 mins we had about 60 messages.
It was relentless. Most of the messages were..
