Cut on Jeans pad

Noticed her nibbling her paw last night.

Doesn’t look new seems to have healing evidence. We’ve been out for long walks and swims for last three days and she’s shown no signs of limping or being bothered.

Going to give her a rest a few days (will be a nightmare they don’t like rest) anything else I need to do. Doesn’t seem vet worthy.

Looks clean and not oozing goop.

I'd bathe her paw in an antiseptic - I use diluted hibiscrub in a half full 1 litre jar, dunk the paw in and swish it around for a few seconds.
A salt water solution would also be good.

Then keep an eye on it.

Doesn't need vet. watch for surrounding skin getting red and sore, usually due to licking too much, if that happens it could need antibiotics. Soap and water are quite sufficient for such a cut. but hibi is ok, avoid disinfectant can cause more licking sometimes.

My daughter mentioned just a few days ago that she was surprised, both Barry and Daphne hadn't had a cut pad yet, given the amount and type of walks that they tend to have.

She's seen a fair few on her placements.

I think it’s from jumping off that concrete into the river the other day.

Savlon should help it heal and prevent infection and possibly prevent it being excessively licked and nibbled if she doesn't like the taste of it.

Ianto is the same, even if he doesn't like the taste of it he'll still lick Savlon off as he's very obsessive about licking and nibbling any cuts or splintered claws.

Also dont walk dogs when its ot outside not only can they overheat but they can burn their pads on the hot tarmac and paths. (tad off topic)

Try Iodine solution, worked with my two dogs
