So, was intending to get a nice VXR estate I found. It's sold.
Saw a nice ST220 - thought that was sold but is still available.

So, you learnered lot.

The shortlist as it sits:

BMW 530i or similar
Audi A6 Avant
VXR if I can see another one
ST220 isn't really off the list, but wondering if spending more gets me something worth while.

I'd really REALLY like something circa 300bhp. That's the aim really, it means I get a fun car whilst still having an estate.

Looked at Porshe Cayenne but they seem a bit dated now sadly.
The BMW looks nicest but still dated against the VXR, and I'm hankering for 4WD, had it on my A5 and loved the grip so would prefer to go back to that.

So, what would you do? go for the ST220 and save some cash, or spend £7,000 and get something else (if I can find it)

(the ST)

See i'd like it to look sporty, So with the BMW ideally M sport I don't want something my grandad would drive, I want something exciting. I'm only doing 10,000 a year, don't need economy, I need a steed that'll haul my crap (bikes, kids, dog) and still be fun if I'm just going out for a blast on my own.

I'd like it to look fairly modern - or at least be easy to bring up to date with a new double din dash or something.

OCtavia VRS? - or anything from the Vag range, likely to get newer and more for your money than the Audi and the BMW, lots of parts about for it, easy to tune for a bit more power.

I've just picked up a Legacy which ticks most those boxes
