I want a car I can road trip in, when I road trip I usually go off the beaten path and end up stuck going down a rocky road or up a hill and I enjoy camping.

I have camped once before but I want the wife to come with, she wont do the tent so car it is.

Only problem is, if I get an estate or a 4x4 they wont be that exciting around the twisties or sweeping corners. I have also always wanted a convertable.

I have a e39 which is like a jack of all trades powerful, comfortable but no folding rear seats so cant sleep in it.

Essentially I am in a prickle, I want a car that is fun, practical but I also want to try a convertable.

What can you guys suggest, my budget for this super shed is 1500 maybe 2k.

so you want a fun to drive convertible that'll do some minor off roading and allow you to sleep in it for £1500?

you dont want much do ya!

£1500 with haggling might just get you a fairly leggy Forester S-turbo or XT if you look around, covers everything bar the convertible but they can be found with a panoramic sunroof.

Similar requirements have been discussed recently, so you could read these threads :

Oh, I guess you probably have already - since it was you asking essentially the same question. Again.

BMW have done their best to try and fufill every possible niche in the market, so I guess it's only a matter of time before they come up with something wink

OP, stop posting multiple threads on the same subject.

You can't sleep in a convertible in any comfort what so ever so either persuade the wife to camp or get a new one!

I will be doing the NC500 when covid permits, i am not sure what car to get. What would the best way be to enjoy the trip?

Convertable benefits

- I can take the roof down
- Nimble and sporty

4X4
- May be able to spend a day or 2 camping in the car.
- May be able to go offroad

Would like your advice

Swap the cars and get a convertible 4x4 instead.

What happened to that lion king, nun fella? He'd suggest a Peugeot of some sort, or you could go for a C3 plurial?

What?? You're making no sense about what you want.

Do you want to actually buy a car you've had so many threads on buying a car I think you really need to workout if you want/need a car because you can't have been looking for this long, had so many suggestions & yet you've bought nothing.

Up your budget significantly and buy a Rangerover Evoque Convertible, seems to meet your needs except your budget.
