Hi there
As my profile name suggests I'm absolutely clueless about cars, hence I'm hoping to get some help from you.
I am considering buying Renault Clio from 2007 1.4 that was recorded as CAT C but since then has been repaired with only these advisories left:

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Road wheel slightly distorted Both front and offside rear (5.2.2 (c) (i))
Offside side repeater cover missing

The dealer is asking for £695 for it and (the dealer) has 5 star review from other customers.

His description says this:
There are minor blemishes here and there, but mechanically the car is a solid and trouble free vehicle. Regularly serviced as shown in photos. One key only with the car. Clutch, engine and gearbox all fine and without fault.

If anyone can get back to me and give me some insight I would be very grateful!
Hope you're all keeping safe.
Thank you

How long do you need the car for? are you prepared to scrap it when done with it?

I guess I've got all the information I needed from your reply!
I wanted to use it for a year or two - until I can have a car with bigger engine (first time driver) but I don't necessarily want to scrap £700 :/
Thank you for your reply c:

I guess the issues in the MoT are sortable. Perhaps some wheel alignment issues, which given it’s a cat C could unveil some unresolved problems.

I think you’ll struggle to resell a cat C with those problems privately, but if you can keep it alive for 2 years without spending a penny you’ll be looking at £29 a month motoring. Personally I think you can find better on Facebook or gumtree going by the description you’ve given.

That sounds right. I rang the dealer to ask what happened to this car and what is exactly wrong with them wheels. He said he doesn't know and he has no idea what the advisories even mean so I think I'll pass. I found nice Honda Jazz instead smile
Thank you very much for your help smile

I read that as meaning it’s got three buckled wheels. You did right to walk away imho.

Thank you for your help smile I ended up buying Fiat Punto as that Honda Jazz had some issues.
I appreciate the time you both took to read my post and to help me out.
