Audi SQ5 Petrol or Diesel?
Discussion
Hi All, I'm looking to change my car within the next couple of months and any advice would be welcome. I currently drive a Jag XF 3.0 S but would like to get an SUV. After a brief thought about the GLC63 and more considered thoughts about the F-Pace V6 I think i will go for the Audi SQ5. My problem is I can't decide whether to get a petrol or diesel. I'm looking at a 16/17 plate. I also live in Bristol where there will possibly be a city centre diesel ban introduced next year.
Does anyone have any experiences with either that could help sway me? My mileage is around 10/11k a year. Budget circa £30k.
many thanks

Well I don't live in the city centre but I get your point. Most of my mileage is motorway visiting relatives in Yorkshire, London and Essex both fairly far hence the diesel idea.
I should also add that I'm a contractor who at present is lucky enough to be working close to home for now...

I have a 2018 petrol SQ5, owned for 8 months and its been great. I went for petrol as I only drive 8k a year. If you can up your budget to £35k that will get you into a 2017 petrol SQ5. The new shape SQ5's were avalible in petrol form between 2017-2018 with a few registered in 2019. Believe from mid-2019 they now only come in diesel variety.

I'd say the diesel hybrid SQ5 is a peach of a car (it works even better in the S4) Bristol is now talking about going the same way as London (it may have something to do with most of their vans being diesels) & setting their ULEZ by Euro ratings.I should also add that I'm a contractor who at present is lucky enough to be working close to home for now...

Thanks for that. I think petrol makes sense considering yours and my normal mileage - wfh though makes me wonder whether its worth taking the plunge yet. Yep, I'm currently WFH too (and most likely till September, if not for rest of the year?). Since lockdown (March), I've driven my SQ5 less than 200 miles so at the moment my SQ5 is an expensive driveway ornament.Only you can decide if its worth taking a plunge on a SQ5 in the current climate.

dang, this is why its good to talk as now I'm swaying towards waiting for a while. Pointless spending that dosh just to look at it out the window. Thanks man.Only you can decide if its worth taking a plunge on a SQ5 in the current climate.
