It's insulting and just not needed.
I do think though that London plod have gathered a reputation for being a bit pally and soft on demonstrators and are maybe seen as a bit of a soft touch. That and a Mayor who seems to welcome demonstrations into the city

Some have decided to deface the Cenotaph which seems a little counterproductive.

I'm sure there's a few Momentum activists there.

It’s a minor scuffle. The police have no public order kit on and are being shouted at from behind barricades. No PSU there, and from what I can tell this video is the total extent of the disruption from thousands of people. The protestors shouldn’t be doing that and anyone involved in violence should be arrested, but it’s a storm in a teacup.

Almost certainly the vast majority of the st stirrers are not there for any reason to do with even the "official" BLM lot in Trafalgar Square. One of the few things the media got right recently is pointing out that the majority of those looting and rioting in Minnesota. Aren't from that state! But had crossed the lines looking for trouble.

What concerns me is that whilst we have had various people stand up and say "FFS stop looting and rioting it doesn't help" (Killer Mike etc) On the other side there are still people stoking up the rhetoric. Which, when then broadcast by the usual st "news" outlets, just ramps everything up so they can film it for the ratings! rolleyes

I admit I smiled at the irony that the Press were being told to fk off by the various Police Forces over there. And then whinging that they were being hurt in the process of attending riots!

According to reports, 1 disruption, 10 injuries and 2 in hospital. Regrettable and those involved should be arrested and prosecute to the full extent of the law, but worse happens at football matches.

According to all news sources I can find that was the only disruption. If you can find evidence of any more do share.

I hope they are taking names and photos of the faces there, it will help contact tracing when we get the second coronavirus spike.

Due to covid, police won't be able to identify so many from CCTV, due to masks being recommended wear!

There’s a few videos on twitter popping up of a few police separated and being hounded down. Few things being thrown at them by a few balaclava wearing goons. Most look to be early 20’s if not teens but not too many in numbers...won’t be long before riot police get deployed properly.

Boris was in charge when London Riots happened wasn't he?

So imagine he will have learnt from that. And curfews will be implemented as needed.

Once it gets dark, the small percentage scum element get bolder, so best curfew. Also with London Riots/Notting Hill, cops go out and see if they can arrest any known individuals during the day for other crimes so they can't be there.
