Canvas Body Recommendations
Discussion
Hi Everyone
We have a Bentley 3 litre with a canvas body that we would like to have re skinned or replaced entirely depending on what shape the wood is in underneath.
Have spoken to the guys that have looked after the car so far and the costs being thrown around are quite large. Was wondering if anyone could recommend a company that could do this kind of work perhaps a small specialist?
Thanks

I guess that you mean a Weymann body?
I'm also guessing that it's one of those cases where the price goes in proportion to the value of the vehicle more than the cost of the work. If the vintage Bentley companies are too expensive, you could try specialists in less upmarket makes. Another option is anyone who restores old buses as Weymann bodies were popular for them.
I'm not an expert, but, assuming the wood frame is good, it should be a lot easier than forming sheet metal. Have you thought of trying to restore it yourself?
