I have around 5K and am looking for a 2nd drivers car

Hello!
So im looking for a second car and am looking for something i can take to track and have fun in.
i dont really want an mx-5 or mk3 mr2 as they just dont cut it for me with the power as my daily is faster (peugeot e208) and im not looking at turbo kitting one or tuning a saab into a granade.
i want something fast, and most importantly i want something a little different.
ive looked at:
toyota celica (2ZZ 190)
MK1 TT 225
Volvo s60R
Space isnt an issue and neither to a degree is MPG, however i do want a car im not going to worry about breaking everytime i turn it on.
Any suggestions would be great!

You'd get an awfully nice RX8 for that money. Imagine that with low centre of gravity they are good track cars.
350Z would seem like a quick fun car for money or Focus ST but not sure how suited either are for track days. But then doubt that the Audi TT you've suggested is either but happy to be proved wrong by others with actual experience!

Have you done any track days before?
Out of your initial list the celica is the one to go for. No way in hell would I want to track a Volvo which is far to heavy, will destroy brakes, eat tyres and that certainly isn't fun. Hence you don't tend to see many big barges at track days buy you see hundreds of clio 182, Honda civics, swift gtis, mx5, mr2. Even a fully stripped out E46 BMW 3series will weigh more than any of those cars I've listed.
Also, don't rule out mx5 and mr2 because you're under the impression they have little power, in the right hands both of those cars would destroy your 208 on the majority of UK tracks which don't have huge long straights .
Ive always had far more fun in lower power track cars, I usually use a mk2 golf 16v or civic type r and have more fun being 90% flat out for as long as possible rather than something that is obsurdly fast in a straight line that requires more brakes to end up going around corners the same speed as someone with half the power.
Also with smaller lighter cars like mx5 you can run smaller wheels and get really good tyres for much less and spending less on consumables makes tracking much more cost effective

I can highly recommend the Celica.
I ran a T sport for 3 years and it was a great car. Obviously all the power is high up in the rev range like a Honda VTEC so it's well suited to track work where you can give it a good thrashing. My car was standard and I didn't track it but many owners do with some suspension mods, coilovers etc.
Another option would be a late EP3 type r for 5k.
