My son needs to submit an electronic version of a physical 40 page notebook to his uni.

What's the best way of doing that bearing in mind he might need to update individual pages before submitting the final version?

He has a subscription to Adobe Creative Suite so has the tools.

I use the Genius Scan app. Absolutely Brilliant.

The free version will do exactly what you want, but for a few quid the paid version is well worth the money.

I use it to scan paper invoices, and bundle each week into one PDF. About 50 pages / PDF file.

Microsoft Word will open PDF files, and convert them into native Word format. It can also Save As into PDF.

Will be fairly long winded converting each PDF into Word, copying/pasting into a single Word doc, then saving as PDF - but do-able if you don't want to download another app/program from an unknown source.

Acrobat CS5 (so I'd assume later versions too) can combine multiple PDFs.

I use NAPS (Not Another PDF Scanner). Basic bit does the job fine. I'm sure it was free, but if not free was certainly cheap.

Been using it for years on expenses and solicitor documents. Spot on and all done from the comfort of your phone

Lots of complicated solutions wink
If he has access to CS he has the necessary tools...

Simply scan each page to pdf
In the folder select all pdf scans and right-click and combine

Acrobat also has the ability to insert / delete / replace pages if new versions are needed - all very simple!

Interesting. I've just had to do something similar for my security clearance upgrade because of working from home.

I have an iMac and a Canon MG7550 printer/scanner which allows me to produce multi-page pdf files as part of the scanning options. The slowest part of the process was changing each page in the scanner as it doesn't have an auto feed.

That sounds like the easiest solution. He has fill access to CS so whatever is the best solution using those tools. I didn't want to start then find that we couldn't edit it afterwards if say a page was missed in the scan.

That’s why I recommended the Genius Scan app. Would have taken you seconds.

Take a picture with you phone of each page and it auto trims into scan quality and auto collates them either to individual pages or to a single PDF. With the paid version it will also auto save to a chosen cloud Destination after each amendment.

I scan all my invoices on the hoof, and they auto save to my OneDrive and NAS drive without me doing anything.

Just finished it was much easier then I expected. I was worried that a PDF might make editing difficult but it was was all point and click.

Being able to replace pages was great as well . Some of the pages hadn't scanned well the first time but it was easy was easy to drop a fresh scan into the comnined doc and delete the old page.
