I heard on a YouTube video reviewing an HMC Healey MK4 that the company made 167, no idea if that number is right. No mention of the numbers on the HMC website, but apparently they made a lightweight version and a "Silverstone". Anyone know why there aren't many in the UK or come up sale? much. I saw an HMC a few years ago at a motoring event and the bloke who owned it seemed to think it was the only one in the UK, but I'm sure there must be more than one.
Yes HMC and Haldane aren't the same. The Haldane looks just as nice as the HMC the only difference is the price. In the Top Gear ep from 1996 Quentin Willson reviews an HMC and the price was about 40 grand, or 26k for a lightweight. Around that time you could buy a half decent original Healey 3000 for about 20 grand (even less); plenty of them in the private ads in the old PC magazines I have from the mid 90s. There are two currently for sale on the HMC website, one for a ridiculous 96 grand and another for around 60 grand. Even an Haldane would cost you about 15-20k.
