Chaps,

Obviously my name gives away my location a little, so I was going to suggest a hands up of who is going to the RAC Rally up here (or down here depending on where you live).

I can suggest some very nice drinking establishments and I do recommend drinking afterwards due to the high student population (I was going to say girls but then we do have ladies in attendance on Pistonheads),

So what about it? A Pistonheads Rally Spectator meet?

Might well be up for it, going to visit a mate who's just started at Glamorgan uni (at the grand age of 27!) and hopefully catch at least the special stage.

What other bits of the course are in your opinion worth draggin along to? (oh yeah and which days?)

The special stage is definatly worth a look - especially is you can get the VIP tickets.

Also apparantly there is a new stage where some timber company has built a grandstand (I think its the Walters Arena) and a huge yump for the cars to jump/crash on.

For the crash vultures out there it should be a cracker

Edited - must get a spill chacker

It looks like the Forest stages are even cheaper this year

Looks like a bit of hike thru the forest this time...

i must admit the price is whats keeping me away!
they cant guarantee that you will even get into the stage regardless of the time you arrive, once its full its full and if i'm in a off big queue and there is little hope of moving forwards or backwards I would be very i think a trek through the forest is in order but knowing hte way these events are heading they will have snipers in the trees ready to take out anyone who tries this. my plan is to take mountain bikes and have a damn good look at the OS maps to find the accessible points away from the car parks.
having said all that however, i do recognise the need to limit numbers to stop overcrowding on a stage but there is a difference between limiting numbers and fleeecing the spectators! if everyone had a tiny bit of common sense.............

I agree, and the mountain bike idea is a good-un. Why should we have pay just to ride the forestry tracks - it just so happens that the rally is on...

from the network Q website!!

Day Pass 1 Saturday £30 adult
Ideal for spectators coming from the South and East:
Start the day at the Resolfen (SS8)
Then onto the SuperSpecial (SS13) at Cardiff Bay for the evening
There should also be plenty of time to make use of the discounted entry for advance purchases for the Service Park at Felindre for just £7.50 per person (£3.25 child).

so thats £30 for a forest stage, and then the mickey mouse stadium thing, and for an extra £7.50 you can watch them repair the bloody things!?!?! am i the only one who is absolutely disgusted by this!?!?

They also state that on-the-day it's an extra tenner to get into the Arena...
