E63 door will not illuminate

Ok so here we go with my first day of ownership. A helpful chap in another thread showed me that my car has an some extra light bulbs in the door sill, entry lights and foot wells.

Just been outside and unlocked the car. Sure enough I have some bulbs under the wing mirrors but the door sills are not illuminating. During the day they appear to have some sort of orange outline so I assume the would glow orange at night.

Is this a setting on the idrive, bulbs or a fuse type problem? Is there a way to troubleshoot this please ?

It’s knackered sills, they don’t last long sadly. You can repair them with that electroluminescent tape. Nice touch those sills and something I would have to find a way to fix if my car had that option. You can buy them new at around £300 a pair or so.
