How long after smart repair to wash and polish car.
Discussion
I had quite a large smart repair yesterday. The chap suggested not washing it for 24 hours, but he didn't expand upon that.
I seem to recall that washing and waxing should wait more than 24 hours. Can anyone clarify please?
There is a lot of dust all over the car and I am keen to have it clean, but I don't want to mess up the repair obviously.
Personally, I'd wait as long as possible for the paint and clearcoat to harden properly, then do a proper two bucket wash.
Probably teaching you to suck eggs, but regards the dust, do as much contactless as possible before getting the wash mitt on there, i.e. rinse, snowfoam then rinse again.
