Well more dinner actually but you know what I mean.....anyway as I walk home from the station every evening I pass a kebab shop. At least 3 times a week theres a couple of Robert Peels finest in there ordering a kebab or two. Every time I see them they are parked on double yellows opposite a T junction. i.e. a very dangerous place.

So the question is what response will I get if I pop in and politely point out the hazard they are creating

Yeah but only a good idea if you are leaving the country for a very very long while. Can you imagine how 'happy' they would be if they ever stopped you in your car...... you would be sent off for drive by noise tests, have to strip the engine to prove its cc, etc etc aghhh it would be a nightmere

I never ever park illegally if I am doing a bit of shopping. I am normally too busy to stop and buy lunch and I certainly wouldn't purchase anything from the establishment you have mentioned
However, you are right that it does happen. If i see any doing it I tell them they are asking for trouble but I am only one of thier peers. Some people you just can't help!

Come on, not even once or twice? How about putting on the music and lights when you're on the way back to the station from the chip shop?
(as I know a certain Inspector in the Dorset police was in the habit of doing)

I've just joined this website, and so far I find it to be very entertaining. I particularly like this topic! Instead of the "Keystone Cops", they could be the "KeeBab" Cops

I was coming home late one night and followed through our village a cop car with his rear light out. Instead of turning into our drive I carried on past, intent on stopping the cops within and asking them why their rear light was out Anyway, a call must have come in or something as once out of the 30 bit, they fairly hammered it along the lanes and I couldn't keep up. Well I was in the Passat.

That was a golden opportunity but unfortunately it didn't come off!

I can quite honestly say that I haven't. I am very aware of attracting critiscism and complaints. To park a marked vehicle illegally and then be seen to do no more than fetch your nose bag is certain to have the incident brought to the attention of the station inspector at least. I have had no more than 7or8 complaints made against me in all my service. Just one of those was in my first 14 years (of which 12 were driving up and down Motorways with a Bic biro behind my ear).
I am not saying that I haven't done other things which I shouldn't have done but not to the extent that the Public around me would know I shouldn't have been doing them ( And I am not going to tell you either )
