Anything not classed as serious will be held back. May also depend on the area. We have had no new Covid cases in MK and no admissions and no deaths for 2 weeks or so. Stuff is being booked around here for non urgent things again, urgent things were carrying on regardless such as Mrs geeks need to have some moles checked (family history of skin cancer) and the start of her referral for a double knee replacement.
GP here - I'm at the stage of requesting routine blood tests for my patients.
As above though it's likely to be area dependent but I'd be amazed if your GP was actually unable to request a test. There is a judgement involved which is basically "is my patient more at risk of contracting and then getting messed up by C19 than he/she is likely to be harmed by whatever it is I'm thinking about testing for?" If the answer is yes then a test shouldn't be offered.

The practice I attend is in week two of an eight week 'Restore and Recover Plan' and is opening up routine appointments and treatments using a combination of phone, video or face-to-face appointments. Blood tests have fallen behind but testing facilities have been extended to 5pm with weekend tests available since June 1st.
