Insurance conditions.
Discussion
I’ve been reading the book that came with my Bennetts insurance policy.
amongst the usual stuff it said that they wouldn’t pay out if the bike wasn’t taxed and mot’d.
This kind of surprised me as I wouldn’t have expected them to be so specific.
I have always assumed that tax or mot wouldn’t have been a dealbreaker as long as the bike was insured and roadworthy.
Is this scare tactics or would they really refuse a claim?

Is that only if involved in an accident on the road?amongst the usual stuff it said that they wouldn’t pay out if the bike wasn’t taxed and mot’d.

Oops. Note to self. When reading the policy booklet make sure you read the correct section.
What I quoted only applies to motor legal cover (if you have taken it out)
‘ Any claim or service offered by this policy where the insured vehicle is found to be in an unroadworthy condition or does not have a valid road fund licence or valid mot certificate at the time of the insured event.
Not as bad as thought but interesting nevertheless.
