I used Celtic for 640D.
It’s been a good experience so far - I’d used them before with a Jaguar.
Far better performance, a slight improvement in MPG. Nice friendly team down in Cornwall but they came to my house to do the upgrade which took about 45 mins. Probably less without the chat and coffees.

How much checking is done before they do a remap? I'm assuming they look into things like the gearbox specification and other drivetrain components to ensure they can handle the extra torque?
Or is it a case of pay your money and take your chances until the clutch or gearbox gives up?

I got 305bhp from my 330d - a 245bhp as std E92 LCI . DMS did that and no complaints at all. Done at my house but I popped down there when I could to get it RR. All ok.
In my experience and reading the 'net' DMS are great but v expensive. Celtic have a good rep too and will be a lot cheaper than DMS.
I would take any aftermarket 'warranty' with a pinch of salt ... I expect all that happens is that BMW say your car is mapped and wash their hands of you + the warranty company say it is not down to the map ... thus you are stuck in no mans land with a car that won't work and end up paying yourself ! The only warranty I think would be worth it is ACS as you pay about £3500 for the map and warranty !! The company over here who does them - Rossiters I think - have never had an issue with any warranty items as the warranty is at a different level and ACS do not want any issues, having been in bed with BMW until a few years ago.
