Ford Mustang should I buy one

Been looking to get a v8 and mustang's are catching my eye has anyone any experience or advice about them. Looking 2016 or 17.

My wife had a 2017 Shadow Edition GT and enjoyed it. She did need winter tyres on when it was cold as she struggled to pull out of junctions cleanly without lighting it up and drifting down the road

The down side was the dealer she got if from was pretty useless but we found our local non Mustang / Ford Performance dealer very helpful and willing to service it without a problem - I think they liked having it parked outside

It depends on you motivation for having one, the back seat headroom is very low but the sound and grunt is nice. She was getting 21mpg with the 6 speed manual on 50 mile a day A road runs

She enjoyed it so much she's now got a 2019 model.

Thanks guys... Really I've been looking a second car something with plenty of power and so far the front runners are the mustang, C63s or an m3/4 going test driving this week to see them all.

It is a great car for that sort of thing, pulling wheel-spins from 2nd to 3rd to 4th, but that was with the factory P-Zeros on - I'm sure the zero stands for grip level. Michelin PS4S made a big improvement in overall confidence with grip.
They do sound nice at 7k revs - the 2019 has an active exhaust and sounds even better.

Definitely test drive one.

I went to Junction 17 cars in Peterborough to buy one.

But they had a lovely grey Lexus RCF sat there staring at me, and I have a big soft spot for Jap cars.

I may have to scratch that Mustang itch.

I have one, albeit a convertible and I’ve had quite a few different cars and this is loads better than I could have ever wished for!

Mine is a manual V8 and I’ve fitted a Borla cat back exhaust which sounds incredible so I’m a huge advocate.

Also the reaction the car gets is amazing as everyone seams to love it ... excuse to post a pic ...

I bought a basically new 2018 about 7 months ago.

Its a manual 5.0 in orange fury with Magneride and Recaros. (also has the active exhaust, digital dash etc std)

It appears to be loved by everyone that sees it! It attracts a lot of attention and all so far has been positive!

Not many negatives really. Its a little bit awkward in heavy traffic as the gearing is very loooong. If you can get a 2018 on there were a lot of improvements over the earlier cars.

it has a few rattles/squeaks inside but other than that I think its a really nice place to be.

Its pretty quick especially once moving.

I think the UK cars are basically the same spec and have the same available options as we get here.

I would love a Mustang but I wouldn't want the attention. And this is from someone currently driving a Ranger

I had a Shadow Edition for a year/20k miles in 2018.

Some thoughts:
- Not the most practical car to do 20k in a year in, and it hammered the residual, but every single one of those miles made me smile.
- Very comfortable for cruising, did a couple of runs to the Highlands with no problem at all (with tents, sleeping bags etc in - lots of storage)
- Standard tyres are st and the slightest bit of enthusiasm in cold or wet conditions will result in near death. Safety systems do, and I mean this literally, fk all apart from light the dash up.
- They get a lot of attention but all of it positive. I never once had any negativity towards me.
- I've had plenty of quick cars but nothing compares for snarling ferociousness. When you accelerate hard, the bonnet rises and the noise erupts and it's bloody wonderful. Until it snaps sideways (see point 3).
- Rear legroom isn't as bad as you would imagine. But it's pointless as head room restricts the rear seats to Warick Davis and below.

I definitely recommend trying one, I'd like to get another one day.
