I have finally got my first bike which I collect on Friday, it is a new Triumph Street twin. Took until i am over 60 so keen to use it now.

I want to keep it nice so looking for recommendations on covers when in the garage and any tips for cleaning products etc

Thanks in advance

TTIUWP!

Put up a photo of your new toy!!

As for covers I din't see the need unless your garage leaks.

As for cleaning products there are plenty of good ones out there. Autoglym are pricey but good.

Finally congratulations on your new bike!

I will do when I get it. As for the cover the garage is fine but it houses all my cars and machinery so gets a bit dusty in there

Congrats on your first bike. Dont worry about a cover unless your garage roof leaks. As for cleaning either sdoc100 bike cleaner or muc-off nanotech. Get some paraffin for cleaning the chain and dont forget to lube it up afterwards. Apart from that just ride it and enjoy it.

Congrats on the bike!

I would recommend a cover in a dusty garage but I'd also say you need to be careful with it to avoid getting dirt/grit inside the cover which could scratch your shinny new bike!

Alternatively sheets or similar could be used to keep the dust off it!

Other than that you may want to think about decent cleaning gear, for dry wipes I like vulcanet wipes (available on Amazon and other places) which sufficeu unless the bike is really dirty then I use the hose pipe (being careful of the electronics) and some like motorbike dryers as well (examples: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=motorbike+dryer&c...

Don't forget security though, there's lots of different devices available and lots of threads have covered what to look for on here.

Finally for the winter months or if you're not using it too much you may want to consider a trickle charger.

ACF50.
Mr Sheen.
WD40.
Brake cleaner.
Wurth White chain wax.

That is all you need.

Nice bike.

The Missenden Flyer has a YouTube channel that seems to cover motorcycle cleaning and protecting.

He has a Triumph or two too.

Great choice for your first bike...I had one as well.

The 900 is such a willing engine. Enjoy!

I was only just perusing eBay last night, thinking of a modern Bonneville, when I came across one of these. Very nice, and the Scrambler model too.

Edited to add, is there anywhere to stick a chain and lock?

Nice bike smile

I wouldn't bother with a fitted cover, they can scratch your tank etc.

If it's only dust you are bothered about, get a lightweight double bed sheet,.... cheap, will do the job and easily washable.

If the roof was leaking in it would be another matter.

If you are willing to spend a little extra cash get it booked in with someone who can coat it with IGL Eclipse and Kenzo products.

That will keep it very well protected and will also make cleaning it afterwards a whole lot easier.

I have no advice to offer as far as cleaning is concerned.

Frankly, I'm the last person you should ask, anyway. smile

However, I am greatly enjoying my Street Scrambler. Have fun!

Definitely agree with this- I bought a king size duvet cover for 4 quid in Tesco that was cheap
