Today I get my 996 C4 daily driver??
Discussion
Posting here to say hi, and also say that today I’m taking delivery of my first Porsche😊.
I’ve gone for a lovely blue 2000 996 C4 which I’ll be using as a daily driver all through our long winter as well (I love in Norway). It’s had its underbody rust protected which I will routinely do on a annual or bi-annual basis I expect.
It also had a new engine (short block) installed 25,000km ago due to bore scoring on cylinder 6 (diagnosed from a ticking sound).... I’m not sure if this also means it has a new IMS or not, but it is quite likely I’d assume?

That will include the IMS bearing. I'd still consider an uprated IMS bearing (e.g. the LN unit) next time you have the clutch changed (or sooner if you're a nervous type).I’ve gone for a lovely blue 2000 996 C4 which I’ll be using as a daily driver all through our long winter as well (I love in Norway).
