When can you drive after ban?

My boss got banned for totting up on the 8th Jan 2020 (6 month ban).

The ban is now up, so can she drive NOW, or does she need to apply and wait for her licence back from DVLA?

DVLA are closed, so we haven't been able to get the answer from them.

I was told in court that I had to apply for my licence back then on the day my ban was up I could drive straight away if I had received it back.

6m ban imposed on 8 Jan 2020. Therefore, the last day of the ban is 7 July 2020 and D can drive again from 8 July 2020.

D’s licence has been revoked and she will have to apply to DVLA for a licence. No retest if straightforward TT99 ban.

When the ban expires, if D drives without a new licence then D would be guilty of driving otherwise in accordance with a licence. A relatively minor endorsable offence but not something you would want on your record.

In all seriousness though, is your boss not organised enough to take care of her own important business....particularly when she will have been provided with all the relevant information?

They are not answering phones at the moment though.

When the time is up simply go the the post office with all the relevant information and re-apply.

Loads of generous people around I must admit

Well no she/he cannot drive till they get the licence back and for the DVLA is not working in full capacity right now,they only seem to handle Critical workers for now

Correct. If you renew in Jan, disclosing you are on 9 points, are banned for 6 months in march after picking up another 3, get licence back in Sept, you can drive for the rest of the year without telling insurers. You need to update them when you renew again in Jan.

One needs to check the T&Cs of one's insurance - some do specify immediate notification of anything that may influence the premium.
