As per the title, I have an MG5650 which is saying output tray closed when it's open - anyone know if there's any way to have the printer ignore that and print anyway? From online reading, seems it's a fairly common problem with cheapo internal sensors (which I can't locate to try and 'trick' into working), so hoping it can be overridden.... Any thoughts gratefully received as I need to print something pretty much well now smile

I had a (different model) Pixma, and eventually found that there's a door/flap inside the top of the output tray. Putting my hand palm upwards in the outlet, I was able to pull down and unclip a tray. Pushing this back up to re-clip it would usually fix the problem.

It's flimsy plastic - be careful. In the end I threw it in the bin, following my breaking of a part whilst trying to fix something else.
