I put my bike into We buy any bike just out of interest to see what they’d offer.

It came back as £3543 which is about a grand less than I paid in December for it but about what I’d expect from them.

That wasn’t the interesting bit tho.

I got another email this morning offering £4000 valid for 3 days.

Never having used them before is this what they normally do?

biggrin the emails I can deal with and I never use my correct phone number on stuff like that.

So if anybody has a mobile number one digit out from mine....sorry.

I got a quote from them a couple of times but ended up selling privately or part exing so don't know what they are like to deal with.
I did use a different number the second time smile

Are they the same outfit as we buy any car(???)
I know people who have tried the car route: you get an email valuation, then drive into your local centre for evaluation, at which point the 'survey expert' suddenly finds all sorts of problems & drops the offer price by at least 25%. I wouldn't go there personally.

I’m not interested in selling...I haven’t even ridden the bloody thing yet.

It just came up on a Facebook ad so I thought I’d have a look.

So they can up their offer but it’s not going.

I threw my 675R in for quote last year..

I expected them to lowball a little, as with the car buying equivalent, but they look the absolute piss laugh

I think market value as an average of those for sale was ~£6.5k... They offered £3.8k.....

My son was thinking about selling his 2016 Street Triple 675R, webuyanybike offered £3250, needless to say he did not accept their offer. They then offered £4100, again he declined it.
I think if they made the second offer in the first place they might get more business instead of making a ridiculously low offer first, anyone that does not need an immediate sale is a lot better off selling in the usual places, just got to weed out the usual time wasters.

If you've an established rapport with a dealer you've bought from before or are planning to buy from again you'll generally get fair value if you push for it particularly against new bike sales targets and in light of the recent lockdown I imagine.
These "we buy" outfits are there to take advantage of the needy no more than that.

Yeah that'll be because it's not a motorbike I expect.
Bit like if you put bike details into wbac no?

Im sure they dont have a warehouse full of bikes they hope will one day net them gold.
It seems more like the price is down to wether they have a buyer lined up.
I think the webyanyphone things are like that.
I have brought a phone that was probably sent in and redirected to me without even getting a polish.

£8k for my late, low miles SP2 apparently. I'm almost tempted as it's sitting in the garage unused and I need the space.

I'm sure they'd beat me down over the lack of service history (due to lack of use).

A mate sold his absolutely mint R6 to them for a pittance, he took the first offer "just wanted a hassle free sale"

frown

They still tried to beat him down over lack of recent history (it had covered less than 1k in recent years) he told them to sod off as he'd told them at the time - they drove off then came back 20 mins later and bought it.

Received a px offer on mine almost 2k less than one they were advertising in stock with more miles!!! Told them it was laughable and hung up. I realise they need to make a profit but that is just taking the urine.

They have since gone up £600

Tried them, but they were a few grand under what I knew I could achieve for it, so I sold privately instead.

Try the superbikefactory.co.uk

I used one of the ‘we buy bikes’ for a quote, the price was really good, I lost £2k on a 4 year old Harley.

The guy turned up in a van, quick check and the money was in my account before I completed the V5 update.

Totally out the blue, but it was a price I couldn’t ignore.
