Electric power steering - software update

The part numbers for the steering hardware in the 981 Cayman, 991.1 Carrera and 991.1 GT3 are all the same, but the press lauds the GT3 for its excellent steering feel in comparison to the others.
Granted there will be hardware changes that make a difference, but software changes must play a big part in that too.
With that in mind, is it possible to update the steering software in the standard models to that of the GT3? If not, why not?
