Little Britain. Gone
Come fly with me. Gone.
Ant and Dec . Apologies issued and gone.
Robert downy Jr. Apologies.

Not really sure what is racist in that, it's dressing up to portray a character.

Something can be funny an of its time and later looked back on with shame. Seems they are taking the right action in the context of today and I doubt any of the acts at the time were created with the intention of causing offence

I just don't see the comparison between racism and dressing up to be a character.

I really do not understand why blackface is wrong, never even heard the term until last week.
I do not see anything wrong with a white person playing a black character or vice versa, as long as it wasn't done in a way to be racist or deliberately show negativity about the person/race. Many of the things that have been pulled from tv just doesn't make sense, it is just pc gone insane.

Little Britain has had it coming for a while there were a few characters in there that were very suspect.

Ting Tong and I think there was a large back woman that Walliams played that were both quite nasty characterisations.

You might not understand but if you read up on the history of 'blackface' you might learn about it's history and why it can be deemed offensive.

You don't have to agree that it is, but white people dressing up as black people has a totally different connotation than the other way around.

Theres lots of info out there

I have a confession to make.

In 1978 I went to a 'Black and White Minstrels show'

I'm deeply sorry.

In a shady 'defence' I was very young and didn't have any real choice but I know that's no excuse.

Sorry again.

I’ve personally always taken offence at ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ as I taught Michael Jordan everything he needed to know.

Queens Silver Jubilee street party - me and a mate did a blacked up dance routine dressed as the Black & White Minstrels.
My dads best mate at the time - Lipton (he is / was black) loved it.
We lived in inner city Nottingham and the streets had many black people (not many, if any Asians though) and no one even thought about it being offensive.

How times have changed.

Exactly. That sort of thing you can understand not being on air, Jim Davidson with Chalky etc

But little Britain? The whole point was that it was a reflection of British culture, taking the piss out of everyone.

That's called having a sense of humour.
