i can see here a chassis which has been oversprayed with "whatever", insitu.
the wheelarch has been covered in stoenchip and than sprayed with paint. also here the body looks like it was insitu during the process.
full botch!!!
The wheel arch does not have any stone chip on it and it also has not been overpainted !the wheelarch has been covered in stoenchip and than sprayed with paint. also here the body looks like it was insitu during the process.

The zinc metal sprayed chassis which was restored some 20 years ago however does have a coat of Upol stone chip applied to tidy the chassis up and look smart for the fully powder coated mechanicals which have since been re fitted Stone chip gives a nice refresh without actually hiding any welds or pock marked tubes since it has a thin surface as opposed to a bitumen product which should not be used.
The chassis also exhibits a couple of 25 year old repairs which could have been covered up but it was decided to leave them as is so that people who actually know what they are looking at can see that nothing has been covered over. or in your eloquent words botched.
The car similarly will not be painted and will be driven with all of its faded patina for all to see.. Not all cars need to have the body lifted and this 1973 car is a fine example of such a car

Perhaps you would like to show the rest of the piston heads community how it is done with your own car

If the OP is on line I would advise that he may like to join facebook Lilley Wilkinson TVR facebook page and I would be happy to advise of the products used to give a long lasting wheel arch finish

Cheers.
