Dilemma - next car

I commute around 300 miles per week during normal life. In corona life this is less due to working from home.
I am looking for something fun to drive, big enough for golf clubs and ideally a trolley (clio wont fit a trolley I know) but reliable / economical - ish for the power available i.e. 30 plus. Currently have a 2.0d Volvo V50 and looking for something a bit less old man ish. Budget 3-4k.

Just getting rid of a Mini Cooper 5dr too if anyone is after a nice one on a 2015 plate
