Need to have say, 20 bluetooth speakers all connected and playing the same sound/music,

Lots of bluetooth transmitters but someone told me that connecting multiple is the hard bit, not many can handle it.

Anyone know of one that can?

Thank you

If you want to connect them individually, they’ll share the bandwidth and likely interfere with each other.

I presume the problem you’re trying to solve is “transmit the same audio stream to multiple wireless speakers”.

I’d not use Bluetooth for this.

If it must be wireless, consider something proprietary, something simple (FM radio?) or WLAN (Sonus have solved this problem if cost isn’t a problem).

Bluetooth speakers exist which will "daisy chain".
I know that doesn't answer the question but just chucking it out there.

It's for a charity drive in cinema

Agreed FM trans would be great but also Illegal without a ofcom licence which costs £1000 odd per event

And no budget for a custom WLAN solution

Would probably do what you wanted.
https://www.marmitek.com/en/audio/transmitters/aud...

But, not particularly cheap.

I wonder if the cheapest method is a specific WLAN network and the audio streaming from a server. Each user connects their phone to the network, receives the (wlan broadcast) stream and then the phone can connect to whatever they need (ideally the car speakers via an aux in).

Timing of sound and image will be a problem.
If you don’t WLAN broadcast, your wlan network and server will need to support multiple parallel audio streams which potentially gets nasty from an RF perspective

Could you stream the soundtrack from a website that they can stream via bluetooth to their car stereos from their smart phones? I have no idea how this would stand against PRS roylaties, licensing and copright, but it's probably the most readily available technology solution.

How many cars are going to be in attendance?

SImplest answer is conference call facility - where they all dial in on their phone
( Most phones have unlimited minutes these days)

You shove everyone on mute

They can connect their phone to their own bluetooth speaker.

The only way to do this is by FM radio.

Ofcom have waved all the fees apart from the Application fee which is £400.00

You can hire all the kit you need for around £250 per day.

You can connect multiple UE BOOM speakers together we have 3 or 4 playing from the same device often.
Pretty sure that a LOAD can be connected at one time, but not 100% sure on that.

I already have a UE wonderboom of my own, how do you connect them together? might be worth a go!

will the furthest 4th one be fine if out of bluetooth reach of the main supply?

It’s dead easy on the app. https://support.ultimateears.com/en/partyup/ basically just choose the ones in range.

Tbh not sure ours are all fairly close to each other it’s only so the same music is playing outside and in kitchen so it does not have to be turned up mega loud.
