Ford Kuga, good choice? - Page 1 - Car Buying

The lovely lady is looking for a new car and the facelift Ford Kuga seems to be the current favourite. Despite my best efforts, she wants an automatic diesel.

Anyone have one of these or know them well? Any major issues to look out for? Any stuff we should be looking into beforehand? If she went for the 4WD version I assume this will be a Haldex setup? Reviews seem to suggest it is but haven't seen confirmation yet.

The one she is looking at is a 2016 car and is currently up for about £14k, anything else we should be looking into?

Main requirements are to be a big car/4x4 ish, automatic and a diesel.

She's a horsey lady so needs to tow fairly regularly, will quiz her on the mileage but she does regular 500mile round trips, at least once a month.

I tested and liked the Mazda CX5 a few years back - no experience of any of the others I must admit.

No problem the QX50 is pretty much the pick it only loses to the others on fuel but the fit & finish as well as spec puts the others to shame.

Towing a box? If so, a need to tow 3.5t really narrows down what's available. As in massively cuts it down.

If she needs to tow the 3.0d in the Infiniti is definitely the pick it'll make towing a breeze.

Only car I've never been able to get comfortable in.

It replaced an aging x-trial which was far more comfortable and didn't last long (approx. a year) before I traded it for my current evoque.

Don't get me wrong it drove nice, well equipped and personally I like the look. But it's the seats, they just don't support, are too firm and just didn't adjust to where I wanted them to be. Maybe it's just me, maybe they're better now??

My misses has the current CX-5. Fantastic if you can stretch your budget a touch.
