that all cars can't be as reliable as my M400.

Le Mans and back
Constant "pressing on" (cough) cruising
Lots of slow traffic in 33C+

and not a thing wrong.

Now why can't all cars be like that?

How about 2 swallows???
Had to leave earlier than I would have liked so was travelling back in temps of 37C and with a lot of sitting around in traffic in Paris (I know..stupid route to take).
Had my dust caps nicked (why???)and car was about 5kg heavier with dead French bugs, but otherwise never missed a beat.
As usual more photos taken of the Noble than anything else by a long, long way. And I remember those chaps from EVO banging on about how the Noble just 'wasn't special enough' in the company of Porches etc (yawn).

That's three swallows then, so that's clearly well past spring Nathan

The "toll" of broken down cars on the way back (I went the *right* way, ah, the joys of Sat Nav) was a bit high. 2 Jags and 1 Maserati clearly were in trouble along the route, and there were lots of open bonnets at various stages. One Porsche was leaking fluid at one of the stops, so I hope they all got back ok.

Now I've just got to work out what the slight wobble from the front at 130+ was (kmph, honest ), I'm presuming I've knocked one of the wheels out, but I suppose I could have gone through a bearing with all the track work. Still, it's in for it's 6000 miler soon so that should find it out.

It was very funny in our convy at one point.

F355, then a friends Land Cruiser, then my M12 and a 360 behind me. The "waving and shouting" was a small amount for the 355, nothing for the Land Cruiser (which really upset the friend ) and people going mad at the Noble, not even looking back to see the 360.

The funniest was one bloke with a big sign that said "Accelerate please" at one of the roundabouts - totally ignored a Porsche and a Skyline, and then waved it at me.

Loved it!

1300 miles, two up, with four days' luggage (and we still had space for more). In fact, my passenger was 6'4" and had no complaints after eight hours in the car.

Temp gauge never budged above the halfway mark and oil temp remained below 100 degrees at all times - and that was in 34 degrees ambient. No oil or water used (but quite a bit of fuel!).

Considering the calibre of car down at Le Mans, the M400 created a stir wherever it went.

Best part of the drive back was an unscheduled diversion around Rouen, due to heavy traffic on the autoroute. Drove through some fantastic scenery as the sun started to set and then re-joined the autoroute just north of the city. Last 200 clicks done at a constant....well, perhaps I shouldn't say.

Took part in the Drivers' Parade through Le Mans city on Friday and was genuinely bowled over by the response from the huge crowds, who cheered us along the way. Highlight was the poor (!) gendarme who jumped out in front of the car after a bit of sideways action away from the start podium. There was absolutely nothing he could do about it, despite his rantings, and the crowd knew it too and showed their appreciation.

How many swallows do you want?

The whole Gumball. I started with 1649 miles on the clock, arrived on the Tuesday at the factory with 5960 miles showing ready for its 6k service.

Two litres of oil, that was it.

Total reliability

My other thread is something completely divorced from this topic. I love my M400.

And my 3R has now has 8 months hot weather testing under it's belt with no problems. I'd call that a flock of swallows!

How did peoples aircon hold up? Mine stops working properly once the car gets hot. I think its heat soak from the engine into the compressor.

It got me there and back at considerable pace though, which is what really counts! You wouldn't believe how many pics people took. I can't think of a more 'lemans' car to go in. Mine even cooked the drivers like the race car

A big thank you to the French motorcycle cops who watched me drive past at 100 and did nothing. Maybe they don't get out of bed for a less than 750 euro fine.

And I thought mine was the only Noble at Le Mans...

Joust - was it an F355 F1 with black interior? Or didn't you see? If it was, I travelled back with him on the Shuttle - nice guy, used to own a 911 until he realised how dull, common and unspecial it was (although still a great car). And , yeah, it's great getting all that attention -even if it is all due to the car!
Simon - getting worried about you with a 6'4'' passenger - she did'nt have a moustache, by any chance?
DanH - thought I saw your car, but No, it actually was a real Viper. Great sound track, but didn't hear it for long as it disappeared into the distance (behind me). Air-con worked fine -struggled a bit when outside temp was around 37c but kept main cabin OK. However, luggage bag on parcel shelf got mightily hot and basically melted everything in my washbag(!)

I may have gone the wrong way but it allowed me to pass a black Lamborghini Gallardo on the back of flat-bed (A16 -just passed Amiens).

355 was a white interior.

Air con was fine, although it did stuggle to overcome the shear heatsoak from the roof!
