Today while out for a blast I've noticed a faint thud.

If I accelerate, even very lightly, when I release the throttle, I can hear and feel a thud in my back.

Does feel like its from the rear so my guess is Diff bushes or mounts!!! Can anyone please confirm this?

Is it an involved job or can I tackle it myself?

Certainly sounds like diff bushes - had the same problem on mine last week and that was what was diagnosed. The bush was about £17, but it was a three to four hour job on the ramp....

Thanks Red!

Is this a job I can do myself? If so, has anyone else done it themselves and got any advise?

Can I do it with the car on stands in my garage?

Don't want to sound daft (but I can't help it!), but have you checked the seat mounting points?

I had a similar story on my old TR6, convinced the diff or U/Js were dying - turned out to be loose seat mountings...
