I was out for a blast yesterday and noticed a knock/rattle sound on application of the throttle. It happens in any gear, any revs and even with gentle application of the throttle. I'm thinking there is some play/slack somewhere in the diff, cv joints, gearbox, flywheel etc.

Is it normal or do I have an issue? Any ideas?

Cheers,
O

Could be a faulty engine mount.

I presume you are under Porsche warranty? What year and mileage is your car?

Thanks for the reply. It's a 2016 car with 20k miles.

No warranty for me I'm afraid. The engine mounts are fixed (not dynamic) on the GT4. Would they fail?

Could be a dynamic gearbox mount. Would it show a code if one failed?

Yep, you get an EDCC error in the multi-function display if one of the dynamic gearbox mounts have failed.

Ok thanks, that's good to know.

It had a gearbox change last spring so maybe something has come loose. It definitely feels like something is rocking around.
