Pepipoo vs scammers?
Discussion
Gawd! What a load of recycled sh1te. And with very few apostrophes
.
I 'liked':
"What [firefly, PePiPoo] describe above, 'exposing weaknesses and inconsistencies', merely contributes to the general lack of faith in the police force (whether it is speeding or any issue), and serves to benefit nobody - police officers OR members of the public."
The poster seems to think that exposing 'improperly brought prosecutions'is a 'bad thing' ... clearly they belong to the 'end justifies the means' school of thought.
"Driving up someones [sic - S] backside at 30 wont [sic - S] usually incure [sic - S] a fatal, but at 80-90 its [sic - S] almost guaranteed."
So it's the speed that's wrong according to 'Tilly', rather than the tailgating.
Tilly again, with a classic: "The speed limit on the roads isnt [sic - S] just for you, its [sic - S] for everyone that uses the road, pedestrians, bikes, motorcycles etc."
So remember, all you pedestrians, no faster than 70 on NSL dual carriageways!
And, (our) Gareth, when you said: "Well, until speeding becomes anything other than a serious criminal offence it is everybody's right to defend that offence in court ... " - I guess you didn't mean what you wrote
.
And Time Bandit who is "a laser-trained special [police officer, presumably - S]" says: "Someone I know drove past a number of officers doing speed enforcement. Knowing they were there when driving back in the opposite direction was doing EXACTLY 30mph. They pulled him over saying he was doing something like 46mph. Basically he told them there was no way he was speeding and they said "ok we can argue about it in court...." type thing.
I am not saying the police officers did anything wrong ..., however it shows mistakes do happen sometimes!" 'Mistakes', 'mistakes'! I can think of another word to describe such an event!
Finally, Nulli says: "Its [sic - S] a load of tosh designed to get somebody of a speeding charge. 'If you do the crime - pay the fine!'"
And by the same token, if you enforce the law, follow it yourself!"
I gave up reading the site then.

It has been said many times before, but if these Camera Partnerships main aim is to make the roads safer & they achieve this aim i.e no vehicles exceed the speed limits. Who will pay their wages?
What really annoys everyone is the "sneaky" siting of the Vans & Cameras in places most likely to raise revenue rather than increase safety.
Whilst these organisations continue to be self funding from fines, the only thing they will achieve is the breakdown of public relations with the Police. IMO a very sad state of affairs!

It's getting to a sickening state now though. They really are justifying their existence by any means. Police and scameras now seem so inter-twined. Almost like police on the roads are JUST there to catch speeders!
I was at Harewood classic car show on Sunday, there were two scamera vans there with Plods and a Brake stand next door.
I filled in Brakes little on the spot test and got 100% within a few seconds.
Kinda laughed as it was meant to show how crap we really are and how to improve our road skills.
The guy looked amazed and I was like, well if most people are getting them wrong then I really DO worry at the state of most drivers on the road...!
I told them I use appropriate speed and usually ignore speed limits. Alot of the time I can be under the limit to ensure safety, ie near schools and parked cars, and at others I "may" exceed it (Plod next door in their Ford Galaxy scamera mobile so didn't want to incriminate myself).
Plod were showing kids the camera and lasering classic cars driving and parading around. Turning on their sirens and had a sign out for mobile safety cameras...
I thought thats the last thing they need to be putting across.
The only police presence anyone there saw is scamera van used for getting people speeding. Not showing kids that they also catch proper car criminals. Maybe they were playing on the heart strings of parents with small kids and telling them how safe their kids will be propoganda, as they really hide behind tree's on fast A roads, not near schools where there is no money to be had!
Makes the police force looks so one sided. No other plod around, except the ones hovering around the speed camera van!
Do police do any other areas of work these days?
I was with my girlfriend and wanted to ask what they bother to do about no MOT, no Tax, drunk drivers, dangerous drivers, drivers with bald tyres, no lisence etc.
However, my girlfriend is fed up of my ranting as it is about scamera's so I didn't bother.
Just p*ssed me off so much seeing them there trying to look cool with sun shades on and nicely toned donut bellies leaning on their scamera van like they were amazing cops doing a great job for us all, protecting us from evil!
Yeah, well thanks plod with the scamera's for preventing road deaths rising, NOT!
This is a real war, they are digging in and making themselves appear so good the sheep will want them and pay for them when their money dries up.
They'll justify lower limits to make the roads safer still, and then bring in more money.
Was scary just watching them with kids and parents on Sunday, like they were life-savers or saints making life so much better. When in reality they do NOTHING really except take pictures and make money to support their own bloated existence!

another gem from a police scammer on the sight:

"get more trouble from motorists flashing headlights warning others.. Trick is to do a few minutes then stand out of sight. Traffic stops flashing and flow speeds back up. Then out for a few minutes to catch the exessive speeders again. Once the battery on the unit goes dead, I leave the unit on the tripod and let everyone see me. Hi visibility prevention and everyone slows down and remembers the spot next time and slows down just in case."
Standing out of sight? not very fair is it?...
another gem

"I'd welcome a van to park outside my house. Perhaps it would stop the speeding motorists from killing my neighbours and their cats. In the last six months alone one old lady has been knocked down and killed along with various other crashes. I've seen two cats hit in the same period. It's a 30 limit"
er yeah im really sure the presence of a van would have made a lot of difference..
looks like we got us a bunch of nimby's...

Hehe, back out to catch the excessive speeders again?
If that statement is true, and it IS excessive speed, then why are they not spontaneously crashing into each other and pedestrains and trees and lamp posts?
This just shows what they are like. They "assume" excessive when it is actually totally safe speeds that are just "deemed" illegal for the sake of making some revenue!
