Just sold something on eBay which was sniped at the last minute by some one in South Korea. This is the email from said sniper:
"I'm bidder I will pay internet banking today. plase write down you bank details recipient name and address,Account Number,bank name and address. thank you "
Is it just me, or is this so suspect you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel? Surely all the buyer needs is my international account number to transfer the funds? There's no farking way he'll get my address.

I am a resonably experienced ebayer - and I would not proceed with this sale.
If you think it is ok, give your bank account number and sort code only. That's all he needs to make a payment to you. He doesn't need any more details.
I would check what his feedback is also. I had a bidder with a positive feedback of over twenty, which sounds fine until I checked an all of them were for a few pence bid for a G-Mail invite. And he wanted to bid on a Rolex.
If it feels dodgy, these days on ebay it usually is.

Internet banking across countries and currencies?
I'd tell him you only accept PayPal or Western Union (it's OK to receive funds that way, you go to a travel agent and collect the cash). If he wants the item that badly, he'll do it.
But be careful as he's in a position to leave -ve feedback if you don't settle amicably.

I do trust some people, I won an item from france and the seller suggested a bank transfer to his account (yes a superb seller) and after contacting my back to transfer £20 found they were going to charge £26 for the use of their wire transfer.
Err no.
So off to the PO and sent euros in cash.
and yes it did arrive.
on another note I have found that some people buy small items to bump up the ratings and then sell VERY expensive stuff -that may or may not exist.
I think the main problem with ratings is I could buy one £40,000 car (in cash) or 4 items at £2.99 - Who would you trust more?
